Yada Yada Yadda

Still learning to feel my way around all of the new technology. The RSS feed search sites are a lot to absorb. It can leave one feeling a bit overwhelmed. I didn't find Feedster and Topix all that useful, I much prefered the straightforward design and information found on the Syndic8 site. I like the layout and the way things are arranged. Found a nice feed with reviews of cookbooks from Stylegourmet. Since I've always loved reading cookbooks and that is my nonfiction collection development section, I signed up and will hopefully get some useful information from this feed.

Can't wait to play around some more and see what else is out there to discover.

EEEK!!

Playing around w/ the RSS and Bloglines features. Very cool. Though after registering, Bloglines gives you this nice little list of things to check off if you're interested and they'll add that feed to your list. Well, after picking a few topics of interest, I somehow ended up with 58 feeds!! EEEK! No Good! There's no way I'll be able to keep up with all of that, so I've got to weed it down a little. hrm. Deciding which ones to keep and which to toss should be fun!

Trading Card

Ok, finally played around with the Trading Card feature. Very nifty indeed. Here's the one I created. It's Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the original Yada Yada Yada girl. She won an Emmy this week for her new show, finally breaking the Seinfeld curse.

Wow. Finally found some time to explore the world that is FLICKR (ya know, it helps if you put that 'c' in there, as I found out the hard way. FLIKR is, apparently, another photo type site, but isn't NEAR as cool as FLICKR. ;-)) Anywho, the mashups are amazing and again I'm impressed with all of the cool techno stuff out there. I love the color picker ones. If only it were as easy to match things in the real world, choosing a color to paint your room would be a breeze.

Off to play some more...after all. Playing is what it's all about. Right?

Oh I've been a terrible blogger this week. sigh. Sorry to anyone out there attempting to read all of this stuff.

As for the 7 1/2 Habits of Learning, I think I struggle the most with the creative aspects. I'm afraid I'm not a very creative person and sometimes get stuck with that. My strongest habit is viewing problems as challenges. I think that is a great way to tackle new things and enhance your learning process.

Now, this week we get to play with pictures! YAY! Gotta go learn about Flikr. I think I've used similar photo sites before, so this should be fun.
